There are a variety of building components that will allow you to build your own tube based speaker enclosure.

  • Choose the diameter of the tube that you want to use to build. 4”, 6” or 8” schedule 40 tubes (pipe).

  • Choose the size of the end speakers to mount with BAFFLES

  • Choose the type of head unit (stereo amplifier) that you want to mount HEAD UNITS.

  • Choose pods to mount speakers perpendicular to the tube face PODS.

6 in sch40 Tube DIN Head Mounts

Single DIN mounting bracket allows you to mount a standard single DIN head unit (stereo) into a 6” tube.

This mounting bracket fits into a slot machined into the tube. 4 sheet metal screws provide a strong attachment.

Overall Dimensions: 8 15/16” x 4” x 1 3/8”

Generous bezel width allows you easy mounting. Hides irregularity in the rectangular mounting slot.

Double DIN mounting bracket allows you to mount a standard single DIN head unit (stereo) into a 6” tube.

This mounting bracket fits into a slot machined into the tube. 4 sheet metal screws provide a strong attachment.

Tube End Speaker Baffles for 6” sch40 tube

Mount a 5.25” speaker into the end of a 6” sch40 tube. Mounts with 4 x 8-32 screws into recessed captured locking nuts.

Speaker magnet clearance is 4 9/16” (4.563”/ 116mm)

Mount a 6.5” speaker into the end of a 6” sch40 tube. Mounts with 4 x 8-32 screws into recessed captured locking nuts.

Midrange Pods for 6” tube

Mount a 4” speaker along the length of a 6” tube. Mounts to the surface of the tube with 4 x #8 sheetmetal screws. Allows the freedom to mount a speaker at any angle with respect to the centerline of the tube.

Speaker magnet clearance is 3 5/8” (3.625” / 92mm). Outside dimensions 5 5/8” x 5 3/8” x 1 15/16”. Slotted speaker mounts with square nuts to allow flexibility in mounting diameters.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

What is 6” schedule 40 tube? Is the tube at my hardware store schedule 40 pipe?

Schedule 40 pipe is the most commonly used pipe schedule but not the only type of tube/pipe available for sale. It can be plastic or metal and is usually used in water or exhaust lines. Schedule 40 makes a great pipe due to its versatility and performance strength. The word schedule 40 specifically defines the wall thickness of the pipe. Pipe MUST sale sch40 on the outside of the pipe or the pipe is NOT schedule 40 pipe.

Can I uses 6” SDR tube with components on this site? Is ATM-D-2241 the same as schedule 40?

The OD of the pipe is common among various pipe schedules. SDR pipes come in various values and have a variety of wall thicknesses. SDR pipe will not work with components made for schedule 40 pipe. ASTM 2241 pipe is a SDR pipe and is NOT schedule 40 pipe.

Where is my tube? The pictures show tube and my package doesn’t include a tube.

The tubes are shown for reference and are not included unless the order specifically states that the tube is included. The tube is shown to allow the understand how the pods and mounts fit onto the tube.

What are baffles in the tube system?

Baffles in this tube system is a round adapter that attaches to the end of the tube and allows the mounting of a standard speaker.

What are pods and where can you mount them?

Pods are a mounting bracket that attaches to the OD of the pipe. The pods can be mounted at any place on the tube. The pod has a curved surface that precisely matches the curvature of the tube. There are pods for 4”, 6” and 8” tubes.

Can I order a custom bracket for a tube that you don’t list?
